Birthday Dinner Party
Birthday dinner party
In the words of our creative director, “Every year is worth celebrating, so you might as well do it in style”
The Planning:
Our creative director Brittany has been throwing herself birthday parties since the age of 13. Every year she manages to come up with an elaborate birthday party idea simply from one thought or picture; this year was no different. She saw a picture on pinterest of a balloon arch and built a birthday celebration around it. It was very important for her to have her family be apart of the celebration but still have a party that lasted all night. With this in mind, we came up with the idea of having an invite only dinner party for the first half of the evening and an open invite party for the second. Since the room was to be flipped mid-evening, it was imperative while planning the dinner portion that whatever was served, clean-up would be quick and painless. To accomplish this, we decided to make everything for dinner disposable but realistic looking. We ordered hard plastic plates cutlery and serving trays that resembled and felt like real china but was 100% plastic. We also ordered dinner napkins that were durable and felt real but were disposable as well. The space itself was extremely nice, but we opted to go with a little drapery and up-lighting to really set the mood of the event. The centerpieces were created out of materials that we had in our storeroom and happened to match perfectly with the colors. To add a little different element to the party, we hired a mobile bartender who provided handcrafted specialty drinks all night, a mobile taco catering company who provided late night snacks for the second half of the evening and a DJ who had everyone moving and happy from beginning to end.
The Event:
The evening ran smoothly and turned out absolutely perfect. We were allowed to get into the venue early and was able to setup basically everything earlier in the day. By the time guest came the only thing left to do was put out the food. The flip of the room after dinner went flawless. Since everything was disposable and jobs were assigned ahead of time, it took 5 minutes to transform the room from a dinner party for 50 to an open space for all. Guest were wowed by the atmosphere that they walked in to. Some commented they would have never expected the inside to look this way from the outside. The food was delicious and the drinks were just right. The DJ had dinner sounding like karaoke with everyone’s favorite 90’s sing-a-long songs as the soundtrack and the party moving with songs to keep everyone dancing. the photographer and videographer captured every part of the night perfectly and the late night snack was an absolute hit. All in all, this 26th birthday was a night to remember for all!
